Parent Support

Hello my name is Katherine Fitzpatrick and I am the Family Worker here at Gosford Park.

It is my role to advise and support where there are issues for children and families at home that do or could impact upon children within the school environment. I attend and represent the school at meetings co-ordinated by other agencies where there are support needs or safeguarding issues.

I can also offer advice and support to parents directly and steer them towards services and agencies that may be able to help them.

Support can also be more informal and could include support around routines, behaviour management and also direct work with children in areas such as bereavement, anger management, social relationships and protective behaviours.

It is also part of my role to explore and implement other ways that school can support our children and families. For example, we are currently running a programme in partnership with Adult Learning for parents of children in Nursery and Reception called ’Ready for Reading’ which will help parents understand how children are taught to read at Gosford park and how they can help at home.

If you think I can be of any help to your child or family, please don’t hesitate to contact me on the main school number, 024 76223281 or approach me on the school gate, where I can be found most mornings and evenings.
