Update 22/05/20 – School re-opening
I am writing to update you regarding the reopening of our school. You will continue to be aware of the debate around the reopening of schools and although the Government announced the 1st June 2020, this date was ambitious. There is no set date for schools to re open and they can and should only do so when it is safe. At Gosford, the Governors and I will only re open school to more pupils when we feel we have everything needed to keep our whole school community safe in place. We are currently working on a plan for return and this involves ensuring that all possible safety measures are in place before allowing pupils to return. As you can imagine this involves considering all aspects of the school day.
We will not be opening week beginning 1st June 2020 as not everything that needs to be in place will be achieved in this timescale. The Government will be making a further announcement on 28th May 2020 and this may well influence the way in which we move forward as a school.
I have been making contact with our Year 6 parents to find out how many parents would be sending their child to school should we re open- this is an important part of our planning process because of ensuring social distancing and children working in a ‘bubble’ and the pupils in that bubble will not change. If you have not secured a place we will be unable to allow your child to attend in the first instance and you should make contact with the school so that we can let you know when we can admit your child safely.
As mentioned in my previous letter, we will have a slow and staggered reintegration of pupils. Our provisional plan at Gosford Park, due to our risk assessment is that Year 6 pupils would begin to return first when we have a date confirmed. When we have this date school will make contact by telephone and further information about what has been put in place will be shared.
Please check the school website for updated information. School will be open 1st June 2020 for our key worker children and vulnerable families.
Miss Charlton will be contacting our Year 1 parents to find out who would be sending their child should we continue to take more pupils. We would then look at other year groups. All of our plans will be implemented only when it is safe to do so.
Home Learning packs are in the post and should arrive with you over the half term week. Thank you for all your hard work on the home learning and for your patience in these challenging times.
With my best wishes
Mrs L A Baddeley
Please read the document below for a full list of key worker roles.
On behalf of the children, staff and Governors I would like to welcome you to our school website.
Gosford Park is a two form entry Primary school situated close to Coventry City Centre. We are a diverse school with a dedicated staff team, all of whom strive to give our children the best possible education and start to life. We have parents who work well with us to achieve the very best for their children.
I am very proud to be the person leading the team and to be working alongside such wonderful children.
At Gosford Park, we work with each individual child and family to ensure that they are successful both socially and academically. We aim to inspire children to become life long learners by providing them with engaging learning experiences that take place both within the classroom and beyond. Our safe and stimulating learning environment provides a place where our children can thrive, be themselves and learn something new everyday.
I hope our website gives you an insight into what school life is like at Gosford Park. Please come and see us in action to find out more.
Mrs Leah Baddeley
