What a fantastic day our Year 2 students had today on their trip to Twycross Zoo! The sun was shining, spirits were high, and the zoo was buzzing with incredible creatures – a perfect combination for an unforgettable educational adventure.
Our young explorers were absolutely captivated by all the animals. From the majestic snow leopards to the playful chimpanzees, and the towering giraffes to the colourful lemurs, there was so much to see and learn. We saw some amazing behaviours, heard incredible sounds.
The children particularly enjoyed the interactive exhibits and the chance to get up close (but not too close!) to some of their favourite animals.
Beyond the sheer joy of seeing so many wonderful creatures, the trip was a brilliant opportunity to extend our classroom learning into a real-world context. It helped bring our science and geography topics to life, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the natural world and the importance of conservation.
We want to extend our sincerest gratitude to all the incredible parents and carers who volunteered their time to accompany us on the trip today. Your support was absolutely invaluable in making the day such a smooth, safe, and enjoyable experience for all the children. We truly couldn’t have done it without you! Your willingness to help out is so very much appreciated by the staff and, of course, all the Year 2 students.
It was a truly memorable day for everyone involved, filled with discovery, wonder, and plenty of happy memories. Check out some of our favourite photos from the day below!
