At Gosford Park Primary School, we are passionate about nurturing a lifelong love of reading—both in school and at home. With that in mind, we are excited to announce the return of our Gosford Park Readathon, proudly organised by our PTA.
This year’s Readathon will run from Thursday 5th March to Sunday 15th March 2026, giving children ten wonderful days to immerse themselves in books, stories, magazines, comics, audiobooks, and everything in between. All reading counts, and every minute spent with a book helps to build confidence, imagination and a love of learning.
What’s Coming Home This Week?
Sponsorship forms and full details of how to take part will be coming home in your child’s school bag this week. Inside, families will find information on:
- Setting a personal reading goal – children can choose to track minutes, pages, or the number of books read.
- Gathering sponsorship – friends and family can pledge a donation based on completing the chosen reading goal.
- Recording progress throughout the 10 days.
- Returning sponsorship money to school by Friday 27th March.
Additional sponsorship forms will also be available from the school office for anyone who needs extra copies—or for adults who fancy joining the fun themselves!

Not only does the Readathon help encourage regular reading habits, but all funds raised will go directly towards purchasing new classroom reading resources. Your support will help us continue to enrich the reading experiences we offer across the school.
Every child who takes part will receive a certificate, and there will be prizes up for grabs too!
