What is Purplemash?

As Computing is a statutory subject, all classes teach and learn Computing at least once a week as well as discreetly with other subjects. Computing is mapped out across our curriculum using the Purple Mash scheme of work focusing on the objectives stated in the National Curriculum.

Our computing curriculum allows for a progression of skills throughout the school. Pupils will build on and develop the skills they have been taught with Purplemash and different apps and programs and learn how to add new skills to these platforms.

You can log in to Purple Mash on desktops, laptops and tablets. The children will have been taught how to access Purplemash in school and will have been given login details. Any questions please contact us.

Saving Work
Purple Mash lets your child save their work online. It’s very easy – just look out for the floppy disk icon on the toolbar and follow the simple instructions. They can save their work to their ‘My Work’ folder. You can then view saved work by clicking on the ‘Work’ icon and find your saved items.

Update

The new Purple Mash Browser App allows you to use Purple Mash more effectively on tablets, without the need to use a browser like Safari or Chrome. The browser app has no tab bar, meaning that there is more space given to using Purple Mash, and that users can only access Purple Mash. Currently, you can download it from the Apple App Store, and it will be coming to the Android Store soon. Please note, the browser app is optimised for tablets, and may be too small on phones to be used effectively.
