Empowering Our Readers at Gosford Park

At Gosford Park, we have an unwavering passion for reading. We believe that every child deserves to get lost in a story that sparks their imagination and opens up new worlds. This week, that mission got a fantastic boost thanks to the incredible dedication and support of our PTA.

A Strategic Investment in Literacy

Following a recent PTA committee vote, funds were officially allocated to a vital project: refreshing our school-wide reading resources.

We are thrilled to announce that sets of new class books for all year groups has officially been delivered!

But the support didn’t stop there. Recognising the importance of a diverse and modern collection, the PTA also funded a selection of essential and much needed new books for our school library. These much-needed titles ensure that our library remains a vibrant hub where every student can find a book that speaks to them.

A “Huge Thank You” from our English Lead

The initiative was championed by Mr. Makintosh, our school’s English Lead, who is delighted to see these resources in the hands of our pupils.

The Power of Your Support

It is easy to think of our school discos, clothes recycling drives, and book sales as just fun community events – and they certainly are! But behind the scenes, every penny raised is a building block for our students’ education.

Whether you’ve paid a voluntary amount at a Gosford Park disco, bagged up old clothes for our recycling collections, or hunted for a bargain at one of our book sales, you made this possible.

These events continue to have a profound, ongoing impact on our school. Every vote cast by the PFA committee and every hour donated by parents directly translates into better resources for our pupils.

To our PTA members and every parent who has supported an event this year: thank you!  Your generosity is helping us foster a lifelong love of reading across the whole of Gosford Park.
