This term, Year 4 have been exploring the world of music through the theme of Ancient Rome. They have been developing their skills in singing in tune and in unison, working together to create harmonious performances. Their enthusiasm and progress have been truly impressive!

Year 4 students turned up the heat in music class as they explored the vibrant world of Samba rhythms! With drums, shakers, and plenty of energy, the classroom transformed into a mini Rio Carnival.

Year 6 were trying to create a wave form using either texture (adding layers of instruments) Dynamics (changing volume) or changing pitch (high and low).

The children listened to a piece called Fingal’s Cave. They thought about the waves and the drama that they could hear and developed vocabulary to represent the crashing waves and dynamics of the piece.

The children created sounds and texture using body percussion to represent 2 layers of a rainforest. They had to think carefully about the sounds they were choosing and choosing which part of their body could represent the sounds best.

Year 4 used body percussion to create a rain storm sound effect. They tried to follow a structure and attempted to add texture by layering the sounds.
