On Tuesday 9th, Wednesday 10th, Thursday 11th and Friday 12th May, Year 6 are invited into school from 8:30am to have a light breakfast before the SATs, this is so we can make sure everyone has eaten and can check our registers as soon as possible before we begin the papers. Year 6 have been getting their teeth into spine-chilling suspense stories. We watch ‘Alma’ and became mesmerised by how the main character was turned into a doll! We wrote our own versions, ranging from retellings to character innovation. As an extra challenge, some children narrated the story from the point of view of the dreaded soul-stealing shop.

Year 6 have been tackling some challenging missing number percentage problems! We used bar models to help us find the answers; using number rods allowed us to manipulate parts of the model and understand each question more easily.
