Year 6: Investigate the cost of travel and accommodation

In maths year 6 have been using what we have learnt all year to investigate the cost of travel and accommodation.

We have used formal written methods to calculate the cost of flying from different airports which included the cost of: the flight, petrol and car parking. We then discussed how an airport less local can be cheaper although this can take a significant amount more time when travelling and the impact of this (including traffic!).

We have then researched self catering, half board and all inclusive hotel options and which works out cheaper. We thought about what each of these terms mean and the pros and cons to each of the different types of accommodation.
